BRINGING BABY HOME
Are you concerned about how your life will change once
your baby comes? Did you know that up to 70% of people
experience a decline in satisfaction with their relationship
in the first year after a baby is born? Did you know
that fathers' involvement is critical to a child's social
and emotional development?
When relationships get stressful, fathers tend to spend
more time away from the family. When homes are stressful,
baby's development is compromised.
You can have the addition of a baby (or another baby)
be the blessing to your relationship that you expect
it to be.
Make a Bringing Baby Home workshop part of your prenatal
education, just like childbirth or breastfeeding classes.
In pilot studies, couples experienced increases in both
marital satisfaction and emotional well-being. Control
participants not taking the workshop experienced decreases
in both marital satisfaction and psychological health.
